… time to think about work in a different place.

Coaching and Supervision in the Outdoors

Some people meet with me in person. Others prefer to be on their mobile phone from wherever they are located, whilst walking and talking with me about their work issues. The outdoors invites curiosity and can feel more spacious. Lots of imagery and metaphors can arise and might surprise! Pausing on your walk to look around and notice what’s in Nature, may heighten your attention to the green space, feel energised and restored. For some people too much space outdoors might cause them to feel overwhelmed. It is important to choose a place you already know that feels safe and welcoming to be in. It may be sitting on a bench, rather than going for a walk. Just being in the outdoors maybe enough for you.

The value of focus in an outdoors session

  • Check in time: which aspect of your work do you want us to look at today, or take for a walk today?
  • Check out time: what are your key takeaways from today? Any surprises? Actions?
  • How will you take what you’ve found back to your work?
  • What are you finding in what you are saying/seeing? Relating to your work
